Internetcourse Environmental Communication and Public Participation

In the framework of a MOU between the Dutch Ministry of Environment and its Russian coun-terpart the parties have agreed to provide Dutch support for the development and implemen-tation of a distance education course on environmental communication and participation. Aim of the project is to contribute to change in public administration in environmental departments at central, regional and local level and in the management of public corporations in the Russian Federation. A distance education course on environmental communication and participation is developed, tested and implemented. Van Kempen conducted research and developed and wrote lessons for the course. The objectives of the course are to provide professionals in gov-ernment, governmental enterprises and NGOs with practical tools for effective environmental policy making and implementation. Concrete cases are explored and the potential benefits of communication in these situations is highlighted. www.toolkitforyou.nl/ecapp/
